A few pictures of other crafts from the past of Herb, the Pepper Mill maker.
Stained Glass ~ ~ I've always had an interest in "Stained Glass" and "Leaded
Glass". For years, I would view glass works of others and tell myself
"I know I could do that". But it was always a someday thing until
one day at lunch. I was temporarily working in Winston Salem N.C. for a
period of several months following a merger of the bank I worked for. One
day I had lunch with a friend and was walking back to the office when we
walked through the lobby of the "Sawtooth". The Sawtooth was
an old factory building that had been converted to classes teaching about
every craft you can imagine. I signed up for their "stained glass"
class.
In the following years, I made many "sun catchers", large window
decorations and lamp shades. In the sanctuary of a church I used to attend
are two of my stained glass windows, one on each side of the alter. At
the time I was working with glass, I didn't have a decent camera. The only
pictures I have are of some lamp shades that we still use today.

Woodworking ~ ~ I've worked with wood as a hobby since I was a kid. When I was growing
up, both my father and my grandfather had woodworking shops. I would watch
how they used the machines and what each machine could do. I've made a
variety of projects over the years. Below I will show you just a few.
Pictures of a bell made of maple and padauk. It's approximately 7" tall.
